Ready to Download and Run
DropBox I know I know, they're not the same thing. I'd like to hear if anyone has experience with both SharePoint and DropBox (or any similar solutions) for sharing files across a business, i.e. As basically a replacement for a local file server. Since there’s no direct way to transfer the files from Dropbox to SharePoint online, you must first store your Dropbox files to your local drive and then upload them to SharePoint online. To transfer files and folders from your local drive to SharePoint online library: Sync files with the OneDrive sync client in Windows.
Download files from your SharePoint site and copy them over to your Dropbox.
The Synchronize your Sharepoint Files to Dropbox sample flow has pre-configured connectors for downloading files from a SharePoint site and uploading them to a Dropbox. The following connectors make up the core elements of the flow:
- SharePoint Connector: Uploads files to and downloads them from the SharePoint cloud storage service.
- Dropbox Connector: Supports uploading to and downloading from the Dropbox cloud storage service.
These connectors are configured to automatically move files from one connector to the next until the files from SharePoint have been uploaded to Dropbox. By default, the files are downloaded from the Documents page on the SharePoint site.
You can modify the automation settings for each connector in its Automation tab, or you can manually process each step in the workflow using the Send button in the connector's Input tab. You can schedule the application to poll SharePoint for new data from the SharePoint Connector's Automation tab, or you can manually receive data by using the Receive button from its Output tab.
If you would like to use this sample flow in your workspace, please follow these instructions:
First, navigate to the Flows tab and click on the cogwheel icon in the top right corner. Choose the Create Workspace option to create a new Workspace for this sample flow.
Then, from the same cogwheel dropdown, click Import Workspace. In the resulting dialog, choose the downloaded sample flow sharepointdropboxsync.arcflow to import the relevant connectors and settings. You can choose to import the flow into any Workspace you like, but we recommend using separate Workspaces for distinct workflows.
Once you have successfully imported the sample flow, you can begin configuring the connectors to best suit your specific use case.
Connect to SharePoint & Test the Connection
Navigate to the Settings tab of the Google Drive Connector. In order to establish a connection with Google Drive, you must enter your URL, User, and Password. The URL is the SharePoint site URL, while the User and Password are the credentials you use to log into SharePoint. Click the Test Connection button to verify that you can connect to SharePoint from ArcESB.
Connect to Dropbox & Test the Connection
Navigate to the Settings tab of the Dropbox Connector. In order to establish a connection with Dropbox, you must click the Connect button, which will take you to Dropbox login page. Enter your account credentials and authorize Dropbox to securely share your data with ArcESB.
Once you configure the these connectors, the sample flow is ready for use!
