Coronavirus started in Wuhan and within a month spread beyond the borders of China. Every country that has been affected by COVID-19 is taking possible precautionary measures to control this contagious viral outbreak. Freaking out in this pandemic situation is normal.

What to do during home or self-quarantine?

However, during self-quarantined, there are certain precautionary measures to take.

Daily items & food

Have everything necessary like medication, toiletries, other household items, and food in the quarantined space. Avoid leaving the quarantine space to go shopping for necessities or grocery or prescribed medications.

Stay active

The quarantine period can make you feel lonely, so ensure to stay busy. It is time to start reading missed books or watch some old favorite movies. You can even consider adding meditation and yoga to eliminate stress. Workouts are great to strengthen your immune system. Remember to drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet. Avoid sleeping all day and stay awake at night.

Comply with all recommended hand hygiene practice

Wash hands correctly for a minimum of 20 seconds regularly. Whenever necessary use sanitizer. You can move in a shared space without wearing a mask but with a social distancing practice. However, wear a face mask to avert coughing or sneezing on your loved ones. Never share drinks or food!

Clean high-touch surfaces

If you are not confined inside a room then there are many things you will touch like the bathroom, sink, doorknobs, remote control, phones, etc. Therefore, wipe these frequently to avoid the spread of coronavirus. After you clean the high-touch surfaces throw the tissue paper in a recycle waste bag.

Professionals can easily work from home. They can stay connected with their team and workplace via chat services. In this way, you can keep busy and even stay productive.

Stay connected with your loved ones

Self-quarantine means not to call friends home for a visit. It does not mean you cannot talk to them. Technology has made this possible via video. There are many video services for free that can help you feel connected with your family if you stay confined within a quarantined space.

Keep a diary

Write down your daily feelings in a diary. It helps to identify subtle trends, which can be helpful to doctors and researchers. In the COVID-19 case, the basic symptoms are flu and cold, congestion, cough, gastrointestinal issues, and shortness of breath.

Call your doctor

If anytime you feel uncomfortable with some symptoms, call your doctor. Immediate medical attention is crucial in case of chest pain and difficulty in breathing!
